Gary is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and earned his J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis, where he was also Dean Kent Syverud's research assistant for two years. Gary's career as an attorney and educator has focused on poverty law and the delivery of accessible legal services to underserved populations.
During law school, he completed a three semester clinical internship at St. Louis’ fair housing agency, the Equal Housing Opportunity Council.
