All incoming students must have earned a baccalaureate degree from an accredited US institution or an equivalent degree from a foreign institution. The American Bar Association requires that every student have an official transcript on file that shows the receipt of a baccalaureate degree.
Please have your undergraduate school send an official copy of your undergraduate transcript to LSAC as soon as possible after you have fulfilled your degree requirements.
On or before August 1, we must receive a new Credential Assembly Service (CAS) report with your final transcript that shows:
- The degree you received
- The date it was conferred
Please note: You must immediately update the Office of Admissions if the expected degree or degree date listed on your admissions application has changed for any reason.
Enrolled students who have not submitted an official final transcript showing their baccalaureate degree awarded and the date it was conferred by the indicated deadline will be permitted to complete the semester they are currently enrolled in but will not be permitted to enroll in subsequent semesters until this requirement is completed.
Massachusetts State Immunization Requirements
All full-time students must provide certification of certain immunizations as a condition of registration according to Massachusetts state law.
International students (full-time or part-time) attending an institution of higher education in Massachusetts while on a student (F-1) or other visa (including a student attending or visiting classes or programs as part of a formal academic visitation or exchange program) must also submit the immunization form.
The following immunizations are required:
- One Tdap booster (tetanus, diphtheria and acellular pertussis) within the last 10 years
- Two doses of MMR vaccine
- Three doses of Hepatitis B vaccine (or two doses of Heplisav-B given on or after 18 years of age is acceptable)
- Two doses of Varicella vaccine
- One dose of Meningococcal (MenACWY) vaccine for students 21 years of age or younger (must have received on or after the student's 16th birthday). Meningococcal B vaccine is not required and does not meet this requirement.
New England Law | Boston Immunization Form (completed by physician or a licensed health care provider)
How to Submit Your Proof of Immunization: New England Law | Boston has partnered with Med+Proctor to streamline the compliance and verification of the required immunizations. Students who have submitted both of their seat deposits will be emailed
additional information about the submission process in the summer.
Students must submit their completed Immunization Form via Med+Procter by August 1.
Exceptions
Proof of required immunizations is not required if one of the following conditions is met:
- The student is enrolled in a part-time program (evening, day part-time, or flexible part-time (with a part-time course load)). International students (on F-1 and other visas), whether full-time or part-time, must still submit an immunization form.
- The student presents a written statement from a physician who has examined the student, stating the physician’s opinion that the immunizations would endanger the student’s health. Medical exemptions must be renewed annually at the start of the academic year.
- The student states in writing that the required immunizations would conflict with the student’s religious beliefs. An accompanying letter from the student’s minister or spiritual leader will also be required in these instances.
- In the case of Hepatitis B, MMR and Varicella, the student presents laboratory evidence of immunity. In the case of Varicella, proof of a reliable history of chickenpox is also acceptable.
- In the case of Meningococcal (for those 21 years of age or younger), students may decline the MenACWY vaccine after they have read and signed the MDPH Meningococcal Information and Waiver Form. Signed waiver forms must be submitted to the Office of Admissions.
COVID-19 Vaccination (Recommended)
Although not required, it is recommended that all students, staff, and faculty be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 to help protect the health and safety of the New England Law | Boston community. Fully vaccinated means having completed one of the following:
- The primary series of Pfizer, Moderna or J&J vaccine AND a booster dose
- The primary series of Pfizer or Moderna vaccine within the last 5 months
- The primary series of J&J vaccine within the last 2 months.
For those of you joining us from abroad, World Health Organization approved vaccines are acceptable.
Notification of Section Assignment and Class Schedule
A course schedule will be e-mailed to each first-year student in early August. This schedule will indicate your assigned first-year section (i.e., D-01, D-02, E-01, etc.).
First-year day students are assigned to a section (i.e., D-01, D-02, etc.), and evening division students are assigned to one section (i.e., E-01). Section assignments are done in late July. They are done randomly. Due to the complexities involved in assigning sections, we CANNOT accommodate any requests for section assignments or section changes.
The Legal Research and Writing sections will be assigned during orientation.
Flexible part-time students follow a different procedure. They will meet with a faculty advisor in late July to plan their schedule. The faculty advisor will contact flexible part-time students to schedule a time in late July to go over the schedule with them.
