The New England Law | Boston Law Library is a place for students to study—together or alone, research the next important paper or brief, or just relax with headphones.
Our collection includes a large variety of legal research and reference materials, printed and electronic, that law students, lawyers, and legal academics use on a regular basis. Students find places in our collaboration rooms and quiet study spaces that suit their learning needs. They seek out the special collections on topics like academic support and women and the law. Access Policies
The New England Law | Boston Law Library is open to all current students, alumni, faculty, and staff of the law school. The law library is also open to other area law students. New England Law | Boston Law Library also has an arrangement with Tufts Health Sciences Library for interdisciplinary research purposes. Please contact a librarian from your institution if you need access to interdisciplinary materials.
The library is not open to the general public. Active attorneys can use the library upon presentation of a valid bar card. For the benefit of our students, only New England Law affiliates are allowed to use the library during reading and exam periods.

Our Archives
New England Law maintains extensive archives about the history of the school, especially its beginnings as Portia Law School, the first law school exclusively for women. These archives also include oral histories about Portia and a history of women in the law profession.
